Onzo, the leading supplier of in-house energy devices, has welcomed the announcement that the government and the major energy suppliers have reached agreement on a range of measures to improve energy efficiency. The company expressed disappointment, however, that the importance of displays has not been recognized. According to Onzo Chief Executive Joel Hagan: “Energy displays play a pivotal role in providing the information which allows consumers to manage their energy demand – the essential first step to reducing their bills. They are vital in giving people help to cope with the rising cost of fuel and also in the fight against climate change. We fear an opportunity has been lost to promote this valuable tool.”

Mervyn Kohler, Special Adviser for Help the Aged, agreed on the importance of energy displays. “Displays are clearly not the whole answer”, he said, “but they are prerequisites in the battle against the soaring cost of power and we would be glad of any initiative which allows us to make them available to those who need help most”.
