Onzo Smart Energy Kit ranked as "Best Buy" by Which?
The Onzo Smart Energy Kit has been awarded “Best Buy” status by the consumer magazine Which?.
Which? highlighted the ‘intelligence’ of our display in their review, referencing our EnergyTools, which learn a home’s usage patterns so they always remain relevant and useful. Further, our frequency of transmission allows for instant feedback, which combined with the portable nature of the display, allows mobile investigation around the home to help people understand the impact of turning appliances on and off.
The Smart Energy Kit was awarded with “Best Buy” status despite Which? only having access to the display and not the web services included in the Kit. We made a conscious design choice – based on behaviour change principals – to split presentation of energy information into the most appropriate media for delivery.
Detailed historical use can be investigated through our web services; the larger screen space afforded by a computer lets people delve into a greater level of detail and navigate with ease. Removing this level of detail from the display allowed us to produce a simple, effective display that gives instant, personalized feedback at the time it is needed.
